Author House steals royalties, using a few showcase authors to hook the suckers in. Their contracts are written specifically to allow them to steal from authors ........they were written by Intellectual Property Lawyers and pre-packaged to look as if they are impossible to sue.
However, no business can use the law to BREAK the law. CMG Worldwide of Indianapolis is a law office dealing solely with Intellectual Property Rights. They recently opened an office in Rio, to better launder their stolen royalties.......this is not air tight, too many blunders have been made already. The ISBNs are multiple and use altered numbers to record sales. Legally, each book is supposed to have only one ISBN that never changes. Check the internet, you will see altered ISBNs, especially on the bar code that records sales of the books. Remember one thing about the internet, the more web sites a product has, the more sales of that product worldwide.
Just one company, Bowker's, handles ISBNs worldwide and nobody can get on their site unless they are a publisher with a secret password. Also, notice that Amazon.com lists rankings for POD books ONLY on their country of origin. Amazon has wiped these rankings off foreign sites and Barnes & Noble does not have any rankings on POD books........
One theory that sounds plausible is that Amazon is using that one single ranking on your book to record sales worldwide. The reason this sounds plausible is that the numbers go UP every day. For instance if you subtract today's rankings from yesterdays rankings, you will get a figure of how many book have sold(worldwide) in that 24 hour period. The only way to save this information for future evidence is to print off your rankings for at least ten consecutive days, as the rankings are deleted every day. Bezos is just using those numbers to facilitate his crooked bookkeeping.
Kemper Investment, worth 350 MILLION dollars, recently bought out Author Solutions which is one and the same as Author House (same street address)......ALL of the POD companies worldwide, are under the umbrella of the parent company, Author Solutions. They are ALL stealing ALL the royalties, ALL the time, except for the few showcase authors.
Kemper Investment would not be interested in Author Solutions unless there was a LOT of money changing hands. Therefore, Kemper is in on the thievery too. It's all done through lawyers and only honest lawyers can solve it.
The fraud is perpetuated because none of us knows one another and realizes how many out there are being cheated. It's worked on intimidation, legal trickery and secrecy. However, it's not going to keep on working, too many eyes are on it.
Don't bother to ask Author House anything, they have a song and dance a mile long to confuse the mind........remember, many web sites, many sales.....(look at Harry Potter, for instance).
Ingrams, a worldwide printer of books, is also in on it, mixing legitimate business with the illegitimate. Amazon has even opened their own POD business because they think its so easy to steal. It's called BookSurge.
