Author House is into me for over $35,000.00. All for promoting my children's book to be made into a Disney or Pixar movie.
The initial response for great and publication was swift. The only positive things I have gotten are: 1.10 paper back books, 1hard back book and an assortment of business cards, post cards, and book marks. 2. Press release 3.Listed on Amazon( with look inside); Barnes & Noble; Walmart Books were way over priced.
If I hadn't been the author I would never have paid $22.00 The worst thing is I was only going to given 10% for doing all of the work and Author House receiving 90%. What's wrong with this picture I sometimes received 3 phone calls a day pushing, demanding me to buy, buy, buy to promote my future best selling children's book and eventual hit movie. The final affront was the invitation to the Pitch Fest in NYC where I paid to "pitch" my book to 14 so called expert agents for Hollywood producers who had no connections with children's literature. After the fact I learned I had been duped and when I complained I was told that the author of Legally Blonde had been to 3 pitch fests before she "was discovered." Big difference in adult comedy and children's literature!!!
This sums up the fact that MONEY IS KING with Author House and Author Solutions.
This company is comprised of modern day Robber Barons!! I demand restitution.
